Grace was the daughter of Daniel Burke (Farmer) and Fannie Abigail "Stark" Crocker and had lived in Roseville all her adult life. Grace Lillian Crocker married Thomas Armies Berry on 28 June 1870 in Auburn, Placer Co "County Marriages 1850-1952" Census August 1870 show Grace still at home. To the union of Thomas and Grace were born five girls: Birdenia Lillian , Lena Maude, Edna Grace, Maggie May and Lulu Florence. After a short illness, she passed away at age 65. She was survived by her daughters Birdenia Preskett, Lena Butler, Edna Tassie, and Maggie Matteson.

Mrs. Grace Lillian Berry was called by the Death Angel last Thursday after a short illness. The funeral was held Saturday, and she was laid to rest in the IOOF Cemetery. Mrs. Berry was a native of Nashville, Tennessee, but had made this city her home for some time. She was the mother of Mrs. Prescott and Mrs. Boston, who, together with a large circle of friends, are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother and kind friend. The funeral was attended by many people, and many beautiful flowers were sent by her friends and relatives.
