LEONARD A. ABELL JR., 53, of 2501 Date, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Veterans Hospital. He was a native of Lebanon, Ky. Abell, a retired employee of International Harvester Co., was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow, the former Anna Rhodes; two daughters, Miss Ada Abell, Lebanon; and Miss Anna E. Abell; four sons, George L. Abell, Lebanon; Leonard, Keith and Michael Abell; seven stepdaughters, Mrs. Mildred Jones, Mrs. Barbara Fields, Mrs. Donna McKellery, Misses, Lillie, Deborah, Patricia and Beverly Scrivener; two stepsons, James and Robert Scrivener; his mother, Mrs. Xavia Abell; and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2325 Osage, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The body is at A. D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut.
