Martha E. Basham, 91, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Monday, October 21, 2002, at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday, October 28, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel. The family will hold a private committal service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Northcare Hospice, c/o North Kansas City Hospital. Mrs. Basham was born July 10, 1911 in Milville, MO and had lived in this area most of her life. Before retirement she was a retail salesperson for both Montgomery Wards and the Hartzfeld's Department Stores. Mrs. Basham was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, William R. Basham on October 10, 2002, two sons, Robert Noel Basham in 1967 and Harold Wayne Basham in 2001 and two grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Ken Basham of Blue Springs, MO; a daughter, Barbara E. Downes of Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. (Arrangements: D.W.
