Anna Sampsonsdatter Berge was the 2nd of 7 children born to Sampson and Synnove Pedersdatter Ese Berge in Dodge County, MN. Sampson and Synnove's parents were immigrants to Dodge County, MN from Balestrand, Norway.

Anna was my grandfather, Olai Fjerstad's 2nd cousin.

Anna was baptized and confirmed at South Zumbro Lutheran Church, where her parents and grandparents are buried.

Anna was the 2nd wife of Aane Aslakson Aaby, and they had four children: Roy, Elmer, Ada and Stella.

Anna's obituary cites that Anna and family moved to LaPorte, MN in 1917; and then to Estelline, South Dakota where she lived 'the past 23 years.'

Anna died at that farm house February 14, NE of Estelline, South Dakota. A memorial was held at that farm in SD; and then the body transported to Hayfield. Trinity Lutheran church at Hayfield was the funeral service, February 19th, following burial at Fairview Cemetery, at Hayfield, MN.

Anna was a talented farm wife, cook and mother. Anna was fluent in Norwegian and English. She lived to the age of 80 years. She and her husband are buried at Hayfield, MN.
