Harry E. Posey, 86, of Sylvester died Wednesday August 8, 2012 at Sylvester Health Care.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday August 10, 2012 at Northside Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Purvis and Rev. Jerry Cooper officiating.
Mr. Posey was born on April 29, 1926 to Marion J. and Ruby Lee Griffin Posey in Warwick. He has lived in Worth County all his life. Mr. Posey was an Army Veteran having served during WWII serving under General George S. Patton. Mr. Posey retired from the Marine Corps Logistic Base as a mechanist. He was a charter member and deacon of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Inez Dees Posey of Sylvester; sons, Wayne Posey of Sylvester, Mike Posey of Tucson, AZ, Gary Posey of Sylvester; son in-law, Donald McEntyre of Chauncey; grandchildren, James Posey, Matthew Posey, Michael Posey, Beth & Emily McEntyre; great granddaughter, Bridgette Holland; sister, Ira Mae Mitchell of Cordele; brother, Loren Posey (Helen) of Ashburn; sisters in-law, Camilla Posey of Ashburn and Hazel Posey of Ellijay.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Posey was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Posey McEntyre on June 27, 2012; brothers, Marion J. Posey, Richard Posey, William Posey; sisters, Christine Posey Winchester and Ann Posey Shiver.
