Lillie was one of nine children born to James (Jed Owen) & Myrthe Matilda [(Tillie) nee Brown] Slavens. She married John Baines and they had six children: Charles, Dorothy, Alsie, Edgar, Betty and Norma. She is survived by two of these children, Charles Baines and Norma Todd; along with four grandchildren, Jack Baines, Rick Wilson, Rock Wilson and Charlena Gurtry; and many great-grandchildren, making six generations.
Within Lillie's direct Slavens family line and to this writer's knowledge, Great-Aunt Lillie had lived the longest of any other Slavens at the time of her passing.
