James "Rickey" Underwood, age 62, of Morris, AL died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 after fighting a hard battle courageously with cancer for the past eight months. Mr. Underwood was a native of Cleveland, AL and resided most of his life in Blount and Jefferson Counties. He was truck driver independently and other companies for forty five years and was a member of the Baptist Faith. Rickey was a caring and loving man who raised several children as his own. Rickey said, "When I met Mickey, I met the love of my life and our life together was the best ten years of my life." He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Juanita Nolan Underwood. Rickey is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Mickey W. Underwood; two sons, Rick Majernik, Jr. (Tammy) and Scott Underwood (Renae); one daughter, Jennifer Nobles (Alvin); two step daughters who he raised lovingly as his own, Kustina Russell (Jason) and Jennifer Noble (Mark);five step sons, Ronnie Wascom, Jr., Randall Heath Wascom, Joseph Wright, Robert Noble, and George Noble (Brook); grandchildren, Rachel and Austin Majernik, Shelby, Scotty, and Sophie Underwood; Megan Nobles, Brittanee, Halee, and Natalee Wascom and Christian Wascom, Andrew Chrisos, Courtney and Breanna Russell, Alyssa and Trenton Quinn, Markis Noble, Morgan, Tiffany and Josie Wright, Juliana and Jordan Noble, Olivia and Makenzie Noble; sister, Jan Craig; nephew, Jimmy Butler (Michelle); and niece Mary Hull; and his precious little pets, "Skootie" and "Baylee!" Services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Chapel with burial to follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
