FORMER AREA RESIDENT DIES IN ARIZONA
Mrs. Myrtle Meyer, 89, formerly of the Effingham area, died this morning at a nursing home in Phoenix, Ariz.
She was born May 5, 1887, a daughter of Mary and William Acheson, at Effingham, and she and Henry Meyer were married Dec. 20, 1910 in Atchison.
For a number of years they made their home on the Meyer homestead near the Star school northwest of Nortonville and built a new home there in 1931.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of the Pleasant Grove-Nortonville Christian church.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Lola Cramer, Phoenix, and a brother, J. R. Acheson, Atchison.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Effingham Christian church with the Rev. Keith Shrum of Nortonville officiating. Burial will be in the Effingham cemetery.
The O'Trimble Mortuary of Effingham is in charge of arrangements.
