MRS. BEN BONNEL DIES
Mrs. Benjamin E. Bonnel, 74, a life-long resident of Atchison county and affectionately know to a large circle of friends as "Aunt Kate" died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, three miles south of Monrovia, from heart trouble aggravated by a severe attack of asthma.
Although in failing health since suffering a stroke six years ago Mrs. Bonnel was able to be up and around her home most of the time. Early Saturday evening she was as well as usual and listened to a favorite radio program.
Mrs. Bonnel had lived on the farm on which died for 52 years. She and her late husband had been married only a year when they established their home on the farm.
September 6, 1863 Mary Cathrine Best, a daughter of Aaron and Melinda Best, Atchison county pioneers, was born on the family farm two miles south of Monrovia. Her marriage to Benjamin Bonnel occurred on March 4, 1885 at the home of her parents.
Mr. Bonnel died on August 5, 1926.
Early in childhood Mrs. Bonnel united with the Methodist church and had been a faithful member since.
Beloved by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Bonnel had a lovable personality and a kindly manner that attracted friends to her over a long and fruitful lifetime.
Through six years of failing health, her disposition remained cheerful and she never lost her kindness. The care and attention of her daughter, Miss Nellie Bonnel and her other children was a joy to her.

Mrs. Ben Bonnell died Sunday morning at her home southeast of Effingham.
Kate Best, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Best, was born on the Best farm south of Monrovia, September 6, 1863. She would have been 75 next Wednesday.
At the home of her parents, she was united in marriage with Ben Bonnell. She lived on the farm where she died for 52 years. She is survived by six daughters and one son, who are: Nellie of the home, Mrs. Grace Woodard, Nortonville; Mrs. Leah Glaspey, Cummings; Mrs. Katherine Schneider, Kansas City; Mrs. Ruth Andrews and Mrs. Melinda Calvert, Atchison; Claude Bonnell, Akron, Ohio. A daughter, Mrs. Edith Brown passed away June 1, 1933. Mr. Bonnell preceded them in death twelve years ago. Internment was made in the Effingham Cemetery beside the remains of Mr. Bonnel.
