Mr. and Mrs. John Bonnell, southeast of Effingham, have the sympathy of all the people of Effingham and vicinity. About two weeks ago their little two year old daughter took the whooping cough. The case did not become serious until Saturday when a recurrence of spinal trouble that she had about a year ago set in, and from that time on till the baby died Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, all remedies that were used proved of no avail. Funeral services were held at the home yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery. Three older brothers and the mother are now suffering with the whooping cough, and Mr. Bonnell himself, was seriously ill Tuesday.
