Betty June Hawkins Eckhardt, 58, passed away on 3 Aug. 2012, in Salt Lake City.
She was born 28 January 1954, in Monticello, Utah, to Ormas and June Hawkins. She married Charlie Eckhardt on January 28, 1982, and later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on 29 January 1983.
Betty enjoyed crocheting, sewing, keeping a journal, cross stitching, scrapbooking and traveling. But her true joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She served a LDS mission to Belgium Brussels and home schooled three of her four children, through this diligence all four of her children attended college, setting a legacy for the next generation.
She is survived by her loving husband, children Brandon (Amy), Trevor (Teresa), Heather and Courtney; three grandchildren Emma, Alexis and Mason, five sisters, one brother, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don, son Travis Michael, father-in-law and two great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Pioneer 26th ward, 1145 W. 500 S. A viewing will be held two hours prior to the services. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates.
