BELANGER, Marie M.

Marie M. Belanger, 79, passed away on Sept. 8th 2011 with her loving family by her side.

Marie was born in St. David, ME., a daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (LeBlanc) Lagasse.

She married the light of her life, Yvon Belanger, with whom she remained blissfully married to for 62 years. Marie was a fantastic cook enjoying her time in the kitchen; she was also an avid reader. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her joy in her life. Above all else, Marie loved being a housewife, making her home welcome to those she loved. She with her husband have been members of Our Lady Of Peace Church since it's conception in 1970.

Marie is survived by her husband Yvon, her son Armand and his wife Beverly of Newington, her grandsons and their families: Donald and Lisa Belanger and their children Jacob and Tyler of Sturbridge, Ma., John and Hanna Belanger and their children Kaitlyn and Michael of Simsbury, her brother and his wife John and Jean Lagasse of Willington, and her sister and her husband Gloria and Romeo Martin of Harwington.

Marie is predeceased by her 2 brothers, Richard and Norman Lagasse, and her sister Joan Clavette.

The family would like to thank Julie Ouellette, Laurie and Jasmine of Connecticut Hospice Branford for their loving care of Marie.
Friends and family are invited to gather for calling hours on Sunday, (September 11th), from 4-6 pm at the Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home., 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9AM on September 12th followed by her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30am in Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Rd., East Hartford.
