Mrs. Lila A. Bond, 83, of Kempton R.1, died Tuesday in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She was the widow of Wirt A. Bond.
She was a baker and a cook for the Kempton Hotel from 1959 until retiring in 1974. She also was a switchboard operator during World War II for the former Berks and Lehigh County Telephone Co., Kempton.
Born in Albany Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Emma (Nagle) Lutz. Mrs. Bond was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of New Bethel Union Church, Kempton R.2.
Surviving are a son, Ethan A. of Kempton R.1; three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and five step-great-grandchildren.
