Roy D. Ortiz, age 42, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico passed away on May 1, 2011 after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on September 23, 1968 to the late Pita (Salas) and Benjamin Ortiz and who survived him.
He was a self-employed Carpenter and Building Contractor. He also enjoyed being a mechanic, was always known to lend a helping hand to anyone, and also raised cattle and broke horses.
A lifetime Catholic, he attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Las Vegas, NM.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Ortiz.
He is survived by his son and daughter, Kevin Romero and Stacey Romero both of Las Vegas, NM; mother, Pita S. Ortiz of Ojitos Frios, NM; brothers, Michael Ortiz and wife Diane and Clarence Ortiz and wife Debbie all of Las Vegas, NM; girlfriend, Thelma Sandoval and her children Danielle, Nathan & Adam all of Las Vegas, NM; nieces and nephews: Desaree E. Ortiz and boyfriend Gerald and Valerie Ortiz, Michael S. Ortiz and girlfriend Shennoa and Isaac Ortiz all of Las Vegas, NM; aunts and uncles: Helen Valencia and husband Fidel and Aurora Salas all of Las Vegas, NM, Joe Salas and Florentino Salas both of Ojitos Frios, NM, Rosario Trujillo and husband Blas of Sheridan, NM, Dolores Jaramillo and Gertrudes Martinez all of Las Vegas, NM; numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.
