Today Girard is mourning from center to circumference. The lovable companion of one of its most prominent citizens has been taken from the home in which all found cordial welcome, and from which the light of intelligence and Christian thought has reflected to reach many an aching heart. Mrs. Dr. G. A. Blair is no more. Her spirit passed away at a few moments before 7 o'clock this morning, and that home is draped in mourning, darker and sadder than any artificial decoration could possibly illustrate. Mrs. Blair was taken suddenly ill Sunday evening, and though given every care and every possible attention by her husband and other able physicians called in consultation, she grew gradually worse and worse, until her suffering was this morning ended by her eyes being closed in death. The attack was pronounced inflammation of the stomach and bowels. Mrs. Blair was born in Franklin county, Pa., October 24, 1860. She was married to Dr. Blair September 8, 1880, from which union four children have come, all girls, three of whom are living to survive her. With her husband she came to Kansas In 1887, to Girard in 1890, since which time she has won the love and admiration of all who know her here. The world realizes the weakness of cold words when it attempts to describe the degree of sympathy the good people of this city extend to the loved ones left behind by this loveable lady.
