Inez Benton, 89, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 9 a.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Inez was born April 23, 1923, near Hillsboro to Thomas and Mina Crowell. She married Curtis Benton in 1945 and lived in Fort Worth, working at the Dr Pepper Company and Monnig's Department Store. Inez attended Willow Creek Baptist Church. Later she lived at Waterford Retirement Center. Inez enjoyed walking with friends, listening to the Gaither gospel group and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mina Crowell; sisters, Oleta Wyatt, Colene Crutchfield; and brother, Royce Crowell.
Survivors: Brother, Thomas C. Crowell of Fort Worth; sister, Nelda Somers of Castle Rock, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
