Our beloved Patricia (Pat) Galloway McGuire, 80, departed peacefully Sunday July 29, 2012 in Houston, TX.

Pat was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 2, 1932 to Edward and Viola Galloway. She was raised in Hamilton, Ohio, graduated from Hamilton High School in 1950 and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

On Aug. 7, 1953 she married Joseph McGuire. Following their union they resided in Hamilton, Ohio, Greensboro, North Carolina, and Stone Mountain, Georgia. In 1969 they moved to Ennis where they made their home for many years. Pat was a devoted Christian and a member of the First Christian Church. She and her husband owned and operated Ellis County Rigging Corporation specializing in vault and bank installations. Following Joe's death Pat worked for the National Park Service. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, writing, traveling, The Price is Right, The Wheel of Fortune, the grocery store, her cat Mr. Chip, Sudoku, her grandchildren and cooking. She is most noted for her chocolate chip cookies and other desserts. Her undying passion was the love she had for her family.

Her generosity to all who had the pleasure of spending time with her will always be remembered. Pat never met a stranger. Her laughter, smile, sense of humor and quick wit will remain in our memories forever. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two sons: Joseph Edward McGuire and his wife, Cheri of Nacogdoches and William Patrick McGuire and his wife Johna of Ennis. Three daughters: Virginia Claire Ginger and her husband, Marvin Brown of Center, Colorado, Ruth Anne and her husband Gregory Spaniel of Ennis and Sally Elizabeth and husband Charles Scruggs of Galveston; eleven grand-children: Elizabeth and Brittany Brown, Matthew, Jacob and Ryan McGuire, Andrew and Hannah Spaniel, Kevin Bertinetti, Lawren Cox, Annie and Caroline Scruggs; four great-grandchildren: Halli Bertinetti, Joe and Jazper Brown and Chloe Cox; one sister, Virginia and husband James Carrico of Lajitas, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph McGuire on March 25, 1991 and one grandson Brian David Brown on November 7, 1979.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society would be a way to honor Pat's wishes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. A private interment will be held in Myrtle Cemetery.
