Anna May Miller, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care, August 2, 2012, with her loving family by her side. Anna May was the loving wife of Francis William Miller who died September 5, 1999.
Born March 17, 1913, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Bernadine (Shorb) Klunk.
Anna May was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Hanover, a member of the old Timers Club at Sacred Heart and was a volunteer at Hanover Hall Nursing Center until age 92.
She was a former cook at Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, Rea and Derick in Hanover and at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Anna May was a resident of Edge Grove for more than 75 years.
She enjoyed having family parties, was an excellent cook and was known for her potato salad.
Anna May is survived by five daughters, Shirley Carbaugh and husband, Francis of Hanover, Katie Adams and husband, Calvin of Hanover, Linda Wennemer and husband, Bernard of Shamong, NJ, Jayne Hertz and husband, Raymond of York; and Margaret Goldstein of Cheltenham; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie Merck, Beth McMaster, Eric Carbaugh, Julia Brady, David Adams, Andy Adams, Kristi McFadden, Anne Chandler, Mark Wennemer, Steve Hertz, Dana Hoff, and Craig Goldstein; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Eugene, Albert, Robert, Joseph, Raymond, Francis, and Bernard Klunk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., August 6, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, with Father Lawrence McNeil as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Basilica Church Cemetery (AKA Conewago Chapel Basilica Cemetery, Edgegrove), Hanover.
