Douglas Lanier Morgan Sr., age 67, of Monroe, died on July 29, 2012.

He was born on July 6, 1945, in Canton, to the late Effie Smithwick Morgan and James Henry Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his son, Terry Lee Morgan, and his brother, Julius Stanley Morgan.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Morgan, of Monroe; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Morgan, Rikki and Charles Banks, and Myya and John Fauci, all of Monroe; dons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Beverly Morgan, of Rocky Face, John and Jenni Phipps, of Loganville, and Julius Morgan, of Monroe; foster-son, Casey Joe, of Monroe; sisters, Margaret Sue Davis, of Monroe, and Charlotte Kirby, of Zebulon; brother, James L. Morgan, of Monroe; and grandchildren, Jonathan Williams, Michael Leblanc, Tucker Morgan, Joie Leblanc, Andrew Phipps, Hunter Banks, Trevor Morgan, Darlene Williams, and Mason Banks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, at Alcova Mountain Baptist Church, with the Revs. John King, Ted Callaway, and Wade Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Alcova Mountain Baptist Church cemetery.
