DIED--Feb. 1st, 1906, at her home in this city, Mrs. Sarah M., wife of Adam Bailar, aged 76 years, 7 months, 12 days. Sarah M. Coombs was born in the town of Springborough, Warren County, Ohio, June 17, 1827, and was married in 1847 to Adam Bailar. They have resided in Fillmore County about thirty years, the last eighteen years in this city, and in the home in which she died.

Mrs. Bailar was a true wife, a kind and loving mother, a pleasant neighbor, respected and loved by all who knew her. She suffered for years with a complication of diseases, but bore all with patience and true Christian fortitude. She leaves an aged husband and eight children and several grandchildren to mourn her loss. One daughter living at home, has devoted her life for years to the care of her mother, and during the last weeks a son, Dr. L. D. Bailar of Lead, S. D. with his wife, have been at the family home doing all that love and skill could do to soothe and comfort the last hours.

The funeral was largely attended at the residence, by sympathizing friends and neighbors Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3rd. The male quartet rendered efficient services. The surviving children are W. C. Bailar and Mrs. Effie Vaught of Horton, Kansas, Mrs. Maud Darrow of North Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Nellie Yates and Miss Nettie Bailar of Geneva; Dr. L. D. Bailar of Lead, S. D., E. L. Bailar of Valley and S. E. Bailar of Tarkio, Mo. All but the three first named were present at the funeral. The Nebraska Signal February 9, 1906 page 1.
