We know very little about Colin Brookover. He died at age 33 of Tuberculosis at Finan's Sanatorium in Tujunga, California (a TB hospital) According to his death certificate he had been sick with TB since 1931.
Colin was born in Kansas, the son of Frank Brookover and Carrie Marie Power Brookover (later Carrie Sless) His father Frank died around 1908 and Colin was sent to live with a foster family. His mother regained custody of him after her marriage to Henry Sless.
Later he moved with his mother and half-siblings to Glendale, California. At one point he was working as a Soda Dispenser and his death certificate noted his occupation was "Entertainer" for a show.
He is buried in an unmarked grave at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles. when I have the money I will buy him a marker.
