He was a rancher married to Adela D'Uhart, but also maintained an extramarital affair with Juana Ibarguren Nuñez, with whom he had five children: Blanca Amelia, Elisa Juana, Juan Ramón, Erminda Luján and María Eva, (in the future Evita Perón). He died in Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires.

Cause of death: car crash.
