The son of James LeRoy and Katie Bryan, he was born June 21, 1921 at Guymon. He graduated from Guymon High School with the class of 1938. He was married to Marian Pittaway Sept. 20, 1947 at Woodward.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the United States Marines. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Mr. Bryan had served Michigan-Wisconsin Pipe Line for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1982.
Besides his wife, Marian, of the home he is survived by three daughters, Dormalee Bryan of Bucklin, Kan., Carol Heine of Sandy, Utah, Kay Marie Scheets of Stillwater; two sons, Ross Bryan of Guymon, Robert D. Bryan of Dumas, Tex.; one sister, Guyneth Simmons of Sacremento, Calif.; one brother, Ralph Eugene Bryan of Guymon; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Waldo Bryan in 1959.
Funeral services will be conducted from the First Christian Church of Guymon Thursday at 2 p.m. Dr. Jere' Wells, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be in Pioneer Park at Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of the Henson Funeral Home of Guymon.
Friends may call at the funeral home at anytime Wednesday or Thursday morning.
An R.C. Bryan Memorial has been established for the First Christian Church or the charity of your choice. Memorials will be accepted at the Henson Funeral Home or the church office.
