Born in Monroe County, Indiana on March 30, 1901, she moved to the Hardesty area in 1904 and later to Liberal, Kan. in 1948. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Keyes.
Survivors include eight daughters, Alma Maxey of Littlefield, Tex., LaRene McCarthy of Riverton, Utah, Elsie Cowan of Balko, Dorothy Snead of Tucker, Ga., Ruby Beard of Fruita, Colo., Barbara Braswell of Littlefield, LaVeta Hush of Plains, Kan., Jane Means of Tyrone; one brother, Jim Bowles of Hardesty; one sister, Ellen Boswell of Scottdale, Ariz., 32 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Chapel of Miller Mortuary in Liberal. Rev. Joe Conaway of the First Baptist Church of Satanta will officiate.
Interment will be at the Range Cemetery at Hardesty.
