Elizabeth Jane Shannon was born January 21, 1827 in Ohio, daughter of John and Mary Stambaugh Shannon. She married George Franklin Cleveland on December 6, 1848 in Tazewell County, Illinois. Elizabeth and George settled in Groveland, Illinois where they raised three children: Mary Selina, Clifford Henry and Clara May. Elizabeth passed away October 19, 1903, presumably in Groveland.
