She was born April 26, 1932, at Monticello, a daughter of the late Guy Burks and Winnie Gober Burks.
She retired after spending 32 years as a telephone industry supervisor, 10 with Southwestern Bell and the remainder with Allied/Alltel.
She was a member of the Monticello Church of Christ.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dean Ashcraft.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Ashcraft of Brentwood, Tenn.; one daughter, Madra Katchur of Brentwood; one brother, Clifford Burks of Little Rock; three sisters, Ruby Jeter of Monticello, Jane Butler of Hot Springs and Guylene Simmons of Laurel, Del.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home at Monticello with Larry Pasley officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery.
