October 26, 1932 - July 24, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Louise's indomitable spirit has returned to her Heavenly Father. A native of Brandon, MS, she was pre-deceased by her father, Fred Currie Comfort, and infant sister, Betty Jean Comfort. She is survived by her mother Lois Lorene Holmes, beloved companion Robert L. Scott, sisters Yolanda C. Cintron (Herb) and Madelyn C. Burns (Larry), her children Steven R. Morgan (Bill), Dennis Michael Morgan, Melinda Susan Morgan all of OKC, and Kate DeWitt Darden (David) of Birmingham, AL, grandchildren Kristina Louise Mortimer, Amanda C. Morgan, Mara L. Morgan, Saprina T. Bailey, Michael Ray Morgan, Griffin DeWitt Darden and Ava Kathryn Darden, and great grandchildren, Kayetlynn and Alek Blair. Louise raised her first three children in Jackson, MS, working as a dental assistant, before moving to Tulsa, OK in 1968 and to OKC in 1972. She quickly made friends through neighbors and volunteering, a lifetime pursuit. She was a passionate genealogist, always seeking the stories behind the records. She was a member of DAR, the Rankin County, MS Historical Society and the Oklahoma Historical Society. Louise was also a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, where she treasured her Circle friends. After several years of gifted homemaking, she returned to dental assisting, later retiring from the OU School of Dentistry. Louise endured many health setbacks in the last several years, but her unwavering optimism and hope fueled everyone around her. A little Yorkie named Scooby helped keep her spirits high. She will be remembered for radiating sweetness and a youthful exuberance throughout her life. And for her romantic, compassionate and generous nature, unfailing curiosity, megawatt smile and that twinkle in her eye, her willingness to dance wherever or whenever there was music, her ever present stacks of books, the magic she made with her self taught cooking skills, her thrifty shopping, the copious amounts of genealogical research that was many times organized in a way known only to her. Her ability to forgive and find goodness in others was only matched by her outstanding ability to speak comfortably and naturally with anyone she met. Louise's outward beauty attracted a lot of attention throughout her life, but it is all of these other traits that touched her family and friends most deeply, her lasting gift to us. Louise's life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 2717 West Hefner Road, OKC, OK 73120. Her ashes will be returned to her family cemetery at Andrew Chapel, Brandon, MS.
