Vern R. Swain died on July 21, 2012 of complications resulting from a heart ablation.
He was born May 10, 1927 to Harold Levond and Rayta Petersen Swain in Garfield, Utah. He is survived by his wife, Darlene, his son, Robert, his brother, Jay, and two sisters, Carol and Margean, and many grandchildren. Vern was a man of many trades and talents. He enlisted in the Army Air Force at age 18 in 1945. He was an experienced diesel mechanic, pilot, business owner, power equipment specialist, mining and mineral processing, and developer of mining equipment. He was a chiropractor and scientifically invented "Tri-Oxy" oil.
Vern was determined to make this world a better place in one way or another for the benefit of all before he left it. His motto was to never leave a minute of the day wasted. Vern was whole-heartedly devoted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and his main concern was doing whatever was necessary to have his family together in eternity.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and prior to services on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Burial will take place Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
