Born Nov. 14, 1914, in Shippensburg, he was the son of the late Lester S. and Lydia M. Bolan Agle.
He was married to Margaret H. Patterson Agle.
He was retired from the Shippensburg Area School District, where he was a junior high school teacher of history and geography. He was also an assistant principal.
He was a graduate of Shippensburg University.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg, Cumberland Vally Lodge 315 Free and Accepted Masons, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223, and the Hub City Club.
He was a US Navy veteran of WWII.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Lawrence E. Agle of San Rafael, Calif.; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, at 2 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. W. Stanley Darrah will officiate.
Internment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
Masonic services will be conducted Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home by Cumberland Valley Lodge 315 Free and Accepted Masons.
Graveside military services will be conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion posts.

Taking part in the ceremony, from Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223 were: Benjamin Brechbiel, Arthur Coleman, Kenneth Coleman, Carl Cramer, Curt Cramer, Walter Hock, rod Kitner and Herbert Sommerville. Taking part from Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168 were : Leroy Lynch, Robert Bilger, Harry Williams, Carl Peck, and Harold Stouffer.
The pallbearers were: Leonard Brumbaugh, Ronald Girosky, J. Lee Hockersmith, Richard Koontz, Leroy Lynch and Donald Witter. The bugler was Frank Skitpan. The Rev. W. Stanley Darrah officiated.
