Oscar Andrew Morris was shot to death on December 5, 1924 at Keller, Texas (near Fort Worth, Texas). He was murdered in front of his wife and four children (Nora McGee/Morris and their children, Jimmy Morris, Mary Ellen Morris, Gennieve Morris and Carrie Morris).
My mother, Mary Ellen Morris/Caywood never fully recovered from the shock of seeing her father murdered. She rarely talked about it. One family member says he was not shot in front of his family - but his wife is my grandmother - my mother was his first daughter and she was five years old when he was murdered in front of her and her mother and siblings.
She said he was a fun and loving father to his wife and children. I wrote about their lives in a manuscript I called "Suddenly It's Forever"
