Funeral services for Billy Lewis Turner 82 of Grapeland, will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel Grapeland. Burial will follow in Refuge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mr. Turner passed away Wednesday in Grapeland. He was born February 13, 1930 in Houston County to Lewis and Libbie Owens Turner. He was a retired machinist for American Can Company, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and also served in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ella Irene Turner, sisters Katie Weisinger and Maudine Nuerenburg, brothers Roland Turner and Colquitt Skidmore. He is survived by daughter Pam Swick Abshire and husband Keith of Kingwood, son Jerry Turner and wife Jamie of Houston, sisters Louise Starkey, Marie Johnston, and Virginia Vickers all of Grapeland, brother Jimmy Ray (Sonny) Turner of Grapeland, grandchildren Mike Swick and Hayley and Caitlin Turner. Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel Grapeland.
