Douglas John Eric Bloomquist, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, returned home to his Father-in-Heaven on February 20, 1993, at age 74.

Born July 16, 1918 in American Fork, Utah to John Axel Walfred Bloomquist and Hilma Paulina Jonsson. Married LaRue Dunn February 21, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force. Retired from Hill Air Force Base after 33 years. Member of the LDS Church, high priest in the Bountiful 17th Ward; temple worker for 15 years, data entry supervisor for eight years, extraction worker for 10 years.Doug was a kind, sharing and loving person with many handyman talents which he shared. He said his greatest joy was his sweetheart, his boys and their families.

He is survived by wife, LaRue and five sons and spouses, Douglas John and Susan, Salt Lake City; Donald Ray, Bountiful; Max and Sheri, Seattle, Wash.; Grant and Gaye, Bountiful; Byron and Robin, Farmington; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Harley, Bertal, LaMar; and sister, Helen VanWagoner.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 1993, at 1 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, or one hour prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
