Eugenia Davis Andress, 79, Bradenton, died Aug. 6, 2003.
She was born April 29, 1924, in Houston and came to Bradenton more than 50 years ago from McAllen, Texas. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Magna Carta Dames, Hood's Texas Brigade, Manatee County Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Colonial Dames XVII. She was a former member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she held an office. She was a Protestant.
Survivors include daughters Claudia Andress Johns of Thomasville, Ga., and Kathryn Andress McCracken of Bradenton; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the rotunda at Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton. Shannon Funeral Home, Town Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852; or to American Legion Post 312, P.O. Box 1269, Oneco, FL 34264.
