Margaret A. Curtis, 89, of Buena Vista, died at her home Sept. 29, 2009. She was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Kewanee, Ill., to William and Ellen Swan.

She married Robert Curtis on Sept. 24, 1962, in Raton, N.M. They resided in Denver for 50 years before moving to Buena Vista four years ago to be closer to their daughter, Diana, and husband.

Margaret had been in ill health for several years, residing in Columbine Manor Care Center. Robert brought her home and became her total caregiver, and she died in his arms. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Elks Lodge. She loved bowling, crocheting and watching her favorite television programs and the Denver Broncos.

She is survived by her husband; sons of Florida and New York, N.Y.; daughter, of Twin Lakes; five grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service was Oct. 3, 2009, at Runyan Mortuary, Buena Vista. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Ark-Valley Humane Society.
