Clara Mae Amacher, age 70, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at University Hospital in Madison. She was born on Oct. 7, 1936, in Vernon County, Wis., the daughter of Richard and Tessie (McElhose) Rockwell. Clara had worked for the VA Hospital in Madison for 29 years. She enjoyed dancing, music and especially Elvis Presley. Clara enjoyed watching soaps and the Price is Right. She loved eagles and dogs and was a proud American. Clara is survived by her husband, Roger Amacher of Madison; daughters, Debra A. Woehler of Oregon and Teresa M. Robbins of Madison; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, LaVern Rockwell of Elkhorn; sisters, Evelyn Metcalf of Albuquerque, N.M., Anne Long of Madison and Barbara Jordan of Carpentersville, Ill.; 22 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Clara was preceded in death by her parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Pat. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2007, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at 1 p.m. Pastor Jerry Amstutz will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, June 28, 2007, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of services.
