MOTHER MIDDLETON
PASSES PEACEFULLY TO HER FINAL REST.
Mrs. Hannah Middleton, so long and lovingly known in our community as Mother Middleton, passed away peacefully to her heavenly rest this morning at 25 minutes after 4 o'clock. She was born at Lancaster, Pa., in 1815, and in 1837 came to Jefferson County, where she was married in 1843 to Mr. Alexander B. Middleton.
Left early a widow, her great fortitude and strength of character were shown in raising a large family to lives of usefulness and honor.
To all who came within the radius of that home where her interest and kindly spirit were manifested, she will always be a loving memory.
Mrs. Middleton has been a life-long member of the Methodist church, living a consistent and godly life.
"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, that they may rest from their labors; and their works to follow them."
