Mr Thomas, who had been in ill health for several months, died Sunday in a San Antonio hospital. He had lived in San Antonio for the past ten years.
During the Wilson administration Mr Thomas was postmaster at Center Point for the many years prior to his public service he was engaged in the mercantile business.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs Nannie Thomas; five daughters, Mrs Marietta Kitchens, Mrs Richard Tuscano, Misses Hilda and Eileen Thomas of San Antonio, and Mrs J.H. Lieck of San Francisco, California; six sons S.W., George E, Jr, Gerald W, Howard and Leslie Thomas, all of San Antonio and William H Thomas of Silver City, New Mexico.
