Rites for Louis Jolley Here Saturday Morning
Louis Jolley, 64, of 1201 Skyline Dr., suffered a heart attack while hunting west of Narcissa Thursday afternoon and was pronounced dead on arrival at Miami Baptist Hospital at 4:45.
Mr. Jolley was born February 10, 1907, in Indian Territory. He owned and operated a coin-o-matic laundry and had been a salesman for the Welbuilt Corp. of New York City for 30 years.
He was a charter member of the Northeast Oklahoma Sportsman's Club and was a deacon of the First Christian Church of Miami where he was a long time member.
He is suirvived by his wife, Mrs. Beryl Jolley, of the home; two brothers, Leo and Jake Jolley, both of Miami and one sister, Mrs. Delia Skaggs, Miami.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist church with the Dr. Russell Martin officiating, assisted by Dr. Weldon E. Marcum. Burial will be in GAR cemetery under the direction of the Cooper funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home through this evening, and at the church until 10:00 a.m. Saturday, when the casket will be closed.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Holcomb, Virjie Maxey, Dr. O. L. Grigsby, Vic Freeze, Elmer Gaines and Dovel Orcutt. Honorary pallbearers will be H.H. Albin, George Lee, Marcus Dale, Dwight Mitchell and John Landers. Elders and deacons of First Christian will be seated together at the funeral. The family suggests contributions to the Heart Fund in Mr. Jolley's memory.
