The divorce decree of Roy's parents, Jerusha Muse Cassady [Pruet] and Leonidas Cassady, states his name as "Royal". His name is enumerated as Royal on the 1880, 1900 and 1910 federal census.

Roy has no headstone.


OBITUARY, Rushville [IN] Republican, Thursday, July 31, 1952:

Roy G. Casady, 76, died rather suddenly Thursday morning at 11:45 o'clock at the home of his half-brother, Bernie Pruet, near Andersonville. Although in failing health for three years, he had not been sick.

He had been engaged in farming in the Andersonville community most of his life and he had resided for the past three years with his half-brother. Mr. Casady was a member of Andersonville E. U. B. Church.

A native of Rush County, he was born September 3, 1875, and he was a son of Lon and Jerusha Muse Casady. Mr. Casady was married to Fannie Alford who died in 1904 and later married Effie Lacey who died in 1932.

Only survivors are two half-brothers, Mr. Pruet at whose home he died and Clem Pruet of Brookville; a niece and several nephews.

The Rev. Armour J. Keller will conduct the funeral services Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Moster Mortuary and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary beginning Friday evening at 6 o'clock.

Roy G. Casady, 76 years old, died Thursday morning at the home of his half-brother's, Bernie Pruet, near Andersonville. He was born in Franklin County and was a member of the Andersonville United Brethren Church.

Another half brother, Clem Pruet of Brookville, also survives.

Funeral services for Mr. Casady were held Saturday in the Moster Mortuary at Rushville. Burial in the Hopewell cemetery.
