Sallie M Bayne, daughter of J R & D C Bayne:
J R was John Robert "J R" Bayne, son of John Marcus "Jack" Bayne #93976923 and Martha Matilda "Tilly" Nivens Bayne #101249268.
If not for this stone we would not know that Sallie existed. She is buried with her grandparents.
J R is buried in an unknown location. Most likely, he is here with is parents and daughter, but have been unable to prove this. He was born Jan 1854 and died 1907, 4 years after his father. 1905 NC Business Directory shows JR running a store on Ranalburg Hwy [Hwy 49] near the intersedtion with Steele Creek Road [Hwy 160]
1900 census shows John Marcus living with J R and Dora in Steele Creek where J R is listed as a merchant. He is also with J R's family in the family portrait taken about 1894 based on the children's ages, so we believe he lived with them to help run the store that they operated in Steele Creek
D C was Dora Clauson Faris Bayne, whom I have put a link to. Dora remarried in 1909, from her Bayne Family Bible.
