Marguerite A. Allan of Fremont, formerly of North Bend, died Monday, July 16, at Edgewood Vista in Fremont.
Marguerite was born January 22, 1917, in Fremont to Michael J. and Alice (Shanahan) Kelly. She was a 1934 graduate of North Bend High School and received her teaching certificate from the College of St. Mary in Omaha. Marguerite taught school in Prague, Staplehurst and Seward. She then worked at Mutual of Omaha prior to her marriage. Marguerite married Alfred E. Allan on April 14, 1951, in North Bend. The couple farmed east of North Bend. Alfred died on April 1, 2006, and Marguerite moved to Fremont in 2009.
Marguerite was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend and St. Anne's Altar Society and the Church Circle #2.
Survivors include daughters Carol (Tom) Givens of Fremont and Nancy (John) Hines of Colleyville, Texas; son Mike (Suzanne) Allan of Omaha; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 19, at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend with the Rev. Don Cleary officiating. Vigil Service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, following visitation from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7, all at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation will continue Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.
Memorials may be given to St. Charles Catholic Church, North Bend Senior Citizen Center, North Bend Volunteer Fire and Rescue and the Morse Bluff/North Bend Veterans Memorial Park.
