Jefferson was a brother of my great grandfather Zollie Coffer Winton. It reads Jeff M. Winton on his headstone. Jefferson had a sister named Lynean Winton who was also born in 1865. They may have been twins.

Jeff Married Clara Leanoria Lewis on December 19, 1889 in Eagle Hill, Polk County Ark. Jeff and Clara had six children: Mary, Rosie, George, Francis, Orban , and Hardy.

I have a letter that Zollie, his brother, wrote telling Zollie's son that Uncle Jeff had just died. The letter is postmarked May, 1938. I also found his death notice in a 1938 Indian Journal Newspaper:

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR JEFFERSON WINTON. Jefferson Madison Winton, 73-year-old resident of Fame died Sunday at his home. Funeral services were Monday . . . Burial
was under the direction of the Powers funeral home.
