Basil Leo Tufts, of Clyde River, died Saturday in Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point.
Born in Simpson's Corner, he was a son of the late Cecil and Linda (Lowe) Tufts.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Ross; a son, Daryl, at home; two daughters, Belinda, Halifax; Rhonda, at home; two brothers, Clifford, Annapolis Royal; Floyd, Red Islands, Richmond County; two sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Kenneth Linton), Toronto; Marjorie (Mrs. Thomas Lydon), St. Andrew's, Antigonish County.
He was predeceased by a brother, Winfred.
The body has been donated to Dalhousie University for medical research.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Matthew's United Church, Clyde River, Rev. Terry Somerville officiating.
