Mrs. Mildred C. Barefield, age 88, of Eufaula, died Thursday, April 26, at Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 29, at 3 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Eufaula with the Rev. Chris Toole and the Rev. Whit Sasser officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery Addition with Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Visitation was held Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born Sept. 20, 1923 in Clio, Alabama, Mrs. Barfield was the daughter of the late Hammond and Annie Mae Smith Campbell. Mrs. Barefield was preceded in death by her husband: Willie Frank Barefield, Sr. She owned Barefield Grocery for several years. She worked at the Infant Sock Mill from 1938 until its closing. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Eufaula.
Survivors include: 3 sons; Ron (Sharon) Barefield of Springfield, Mo., Frank (Karen) Barfield, Jr. of Eufaula, Keith (Lisa) Barefield, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas; 4 grandchildren; Kris Barefield of Springfield, Mo., Brooke (Jon) Bryan of Marshall, Mo., Billy Barefield of Oklahoma City, Okla., Keith Barefield, Jr. of Alva, Okla.; 2 great grandchildren, Bennett Bryan of Marshall, Mo., Emerson Kei Barefield of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 2 step-grandchildren, Leslie (Aaron) Hebert of Alva, Okla., Bryan Apodaca of San Antonio, Texas; step-great granddaughter, Isabella Grace Hebert.
Pallbearers were Ricky McGilvary, Don Mathis, Larry Brown, John DeLoach, Jackie Whitehead and Jimmy Whitehead.
