Barbara Stokes Bailey, age 75, of 224 Courtland Street, Apt. 147, Danville, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Born October 24, 1934 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Willie Clinton Stokes and Fannie Scott Stokes Dalton. Mrs. Bailey worked as a waitress for a number of years at the Surf Restaurant, H & C Cafe, and the Chicken Cafe. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Her husband, Irvin Bailey predeceased her.
Survivors include two daughters: Debra Agee of Weatherford, Texas, Lisa Hairston of Danville; one sister: Dorothy Hannum of Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Bowes, and by two brothers, Willie C. Stokes and Howard Stokes.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at two o'clock from the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Daryl Joyce. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service.
