After her fathers tour of duty in the US Air Force, they returned to the United States in 1962 and settled in New Mexico. In 1964 the family moved to Virginia and then in 1969 moved to Rock Port, Missouri where Lisa graduated from high school in 1979. She attended Creighton University for one semester and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in May of 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
She married Tom Bock on November 26, 1987 in Rock Port. She taught in Rockport until 1994 when they moved to Brookfield, Missouri where she worked for the school system for two years. They then moved to Columbus in 1996 where she was a Language Art Instructor at the Columbus Middle School.
She was a member of the Columbus Educators Association, Nebraska State Educators Association, National Educators Association, and the Nebraska State Reading Association. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Lisa enjoyed interior and exterior decorating, flowers and supporting her boys in their activities.
