Cleo is survived by her children, Victor Arnold and his wife, Nancy of Las Cruces, NM, Jim Arnold and his wife, Tobie of Mocksville, NC, Dennis Arnold and his wife, Joy, Joyce Butler and her husband, Bill, Mark Arnold, and Jean Villamarin and her husband, Chuck all of Albuquerque, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, sisters, Lavinia De Rolf and Carmen Powers and her husband, Ray, sisters-in-law, LuJean and her husband, Herb Adcock, brothers-in-law, Kenneth and his wife, Nancy Arnold, Alvin and his wife, Shirley Arnold. Cleo was a descendent of one of the original Spanish families to colonize New Mexico, the Romero's.
Cleo was born in Santa Rosa, NM on February 5, 1917.
Cleo grew up in Las Vegas, NM. Cleo was a graduate of Highlands University. Cleo was first employed by the State of New Mexico school lunch program in Raton, NM, where she met her future husband who was stationed there at the outbreak of World War II. Cleo taught school in Santa Rosa and in Albuquerque.
Cleo was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital, Palo Duro Senior Center and Sojourners, where she continued to volunteer until the last few months of her life. A Rosary will be held at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming NE, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Risen Savior Catholic Community at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008. Private Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Cleo Arnold, to Casa Angelica, (A home for medically fragile children) 5629 Isleta Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
