Stephen Ingro Torrent immigrated from Memfi, Sicily as a young child in 1910. He enjoyed a modest amount of success in the silent film era as a double for Rudolph Valentino in such movies as "Monsieur Beuacaire" and "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse". Upon the advent of talking films, Stephen began a second career as the "Hairdresser to the Stars" and was instrumental in furthering the careers of such notables as Sally Rand, Lucille Ball, and the Andrews Sisters to name a few.
