ST. GEORGE, UTAH - Geraldine Reese Bennett passed away Monday, August 23, 2004 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Gerrie was born November 22, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Major and Martha LaVee Bennett Reese. She married Robert DuVal Bennett on July 28, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple. Gerrie was raised in South Ogden, Utah graduating from Weber High School and Weber College where she was active in journalism, debate, Sharmea, and student government. She was an accomplished pianist touching many lives and hearts with her music. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church, exemplifying the Savior in every aspect of her life. She served as an ordinance worker with her husband in the St. George Temple. Her greatest joys in life were being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 54 years; her children Deb Bennett, Salt Lake City; Kathy (Val) Edwards, Centerville; Judy (Mike) Morgan, Sandy; and Bob (Karen) Bennett, Brigham City; 14 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie (Ray) Ogden, her brothers Jack (Lila Rae) Reese and Bill (JoAnn) Reese, and numerous extended family members. The family expresses gratitude for the kindness extended during Gerrie's illness. Funeral services held Thursday, August 26, 2004, at the Snow Canyon Sixth Ward, 1610 North Dixie Downs Road, St. George, Utah. An additional funeral held Saturday, August 28, at the Centerville 6th Ward, 900 South 400 East, Centerville, Utah. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
