Wilhelmina "Minnie" Vautrin helped build and found the Ginling Girls College in Nanjing, China. She is renowned for saving the lives of many women and children during the Nanking Massacre in 1937-1938.

After Minnie's death, the Chinese awarded her the Emblem of the Blue Jade for her work during the massacre.

Her biography is called American Goddess at the Rape of Nanking, by Hua-ling Hu.

Minnie was portrayed by Mariel Hemmingway in the movie Nanking (2007).
